The Cross County Speech Team is a highly competitive group that travels to various invitationals throughout the months of January, February and March.  Competitive, NSAA events include Oral Interpretation of Drama (OID), Duet Acting, Interpretation of Humorous Prose, Interpretation of Serious Prose, Interpretation of Poetry,  Informative Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, Entertainment Speaking, and Extemporaneous Speaking.   Additional events (non-NSAA) include Program of Interpretation, Impromptu Speaking, Improv, and Thematic Interpretation.  In the past five years, the Cross County Speech Team has placed in top two at both CRC and Districts every year.  Additionally, the team has ranked in the top six, overall, at the NSAA State Speech Championships for Class C2 for the past three years.  The Cross County Speech Team is coached by Dani Bethune.  She is assisted by Anna Osten.​
